Accessing help:

Choosing therapy can be an easy or obvious choice or it might feel incredibly intimidating and scary; and sometimes it can feel like all those things at once! Whatever is bringing you here, and however you are showing up know that I am familiar with how unnerving this process may feel, and I hope to invite you into our work together to feel those feels and find some settling in the process.

There was a recent time in my life when I wondered as a client of therapy myself, “Is therapy for me?” “What if it doesn’t ‘work’”? “Do I have anything worth talking about - someone else must have it far worse than I?”. These questions may be familiar to you, and they may not. What matters to me the most is that in our work together you can experience and deeply know that your needs and desires matter and are worth compassionately attending to, no matter how big or small they may seem.

What do I believe about therapeutic work?

I am continually finding in my work with clients and myself that healing and transformation happens once we can embrace and be with the emotions and experiences that have not been fully expressed or processed in a safe and secure relationship. As humans, we are wired to connect with others and experience our lives in the context of supportive relationships. And it is in these human relationships that we too experience hurt, pain, invalidation and sometimes, aloneness. It is so painful to feel alone. It impacts the way we think about ourselves, how we feel (or don’t feel) our emotions, and deeply influences our spiritual self. In our work together, my main aim is to help undo some of that aloneness so that you can begin to heal the wounds of your past and present and live the connected and whole life you deserve to live.  Our body, emotions, mind, and spirit all work together to support ourselves and our relationships, and so attending to all these components of us is essential to gain insight and awareness to take these steps forward.

I believe we all possess innate capacity to survive terrible pains and heal through them in profound ways. It is my honour to journey alongside you as you bravely face suffering and healing, however that looks.

Our work together:

My goal is to come alongside you to create a space that best suits your needs and goals and to offer you the autonomy and guidance needed as you courageously embark on or continue your healing journey. In addition to understanding you as an individual, I am aware that we bring with us many other identities and experiences such as culture, family background, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status and varying abilities and social locations. These identities in part form the story of who we are, and I want to be intentionally curious about and hold space for all these parts of you as they are and as they show up in our work.
